SIMCO's rectangular suspended magnets give you the features that are of critical
importance for maximum tramp iron removal. These are :
- Tremendous magnet pull because coil-core cross sections are properly engineered
to make most efficient use of ampere turns.
- Extra cool operation because more turns of wire and lower wattage mean lower
operating temperature-and because space wound construction provides maximum
horizontal and vertical oil flow for greater heat dissipation.
- Outstanding tramp iron removal across the full width of belt and down into
the full depth of material, because SIMCO's umbrella-shaped magnetic field
pattern flux is distributed for most effective load coverage.
Basically, SIMCO's suspended magnets are used to separate ferrous material from
non-ferrous material in four types of operation. These are :
- Protection of processing equipment such as crushers, pulverizers, conveyor
belt, screen, etc., from damage by removing tramp iron.
- Purification of product or ingredient for higher quality end product by
removing iron from material in process such as foundary sand, glass cullet,
grain, food products, chemical, etc
- Reclamation of either the ferrous or non-ferrous material from open hearth
and blast furnace slag, incinerator and garbage plant products, etc.
- Salvage of valuable tools, cutter bits
and machinery parts.
In many applications there will be a
combination of protection, purification,
and reclamation operations.
These high strength magnets can be suspended over belt conveyors, or non-magnetic
sections of vibrating feeders, oscillating conveyor, chutes, screens, etc.
SIMCO's suspended magnet are available in three basic styles-the manual type
suspended magnet, the in-line self-cleaning magnetic separa- tor and the cross-belt
self-cleaning magnetic separator.
All three are available in broad range of sizes and strengths. SIMCO's units
now in use are suspended as high as 350 mm over conveyors up to 2200 mm wide,
with belts running as fast as 220 m/min.
Each style develops a powerful, broad, deep-reaching magnetic field that throughly
probes, and effectively removes tramp iron from material in process.
